Consistent. Unique : Week 10, part 1

I go and make – well start four more, big new pictures.

I vary my process a little. Painting randomly first, in relation to a set of charcoal marks and initial design. Then when they are dry I put them on boards and off we go.

Each begins with the same basic design as Journey. I use the same three colours, indigo, burnt sienna and white with charcoal and oil pastel. But I leave them all to form themselves. I leave everything to instinct and to chance letting them create their own expression.

Consistent building blocks. Unique forms. The story of the universe.

In them I see portals and stones. This is how they start, but not how they end up.

same start, different directions
